Hi I'm Braden Bybee

I'm a Mormon! :)

About Me

I love golf, drum set, soccer, chemistry, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am attended college to prepare for the medical field. I recently participated in a medical mission to Las Vegas serving homeless people by helping them get some food and doing health screenings. I really gained perspective into how Jesus Christ served the poor and the needy. I love to travel with my family. We love to visit golf courses and temples around the U.S. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Iowa Des Moines mission. This has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I continue to enjoy serving.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He atoned for our sins, and He was resurrected. God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820. Soon thereafter, Jesus Christ's church organization and the priesthood keys and authority were restored to this earth. The Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph and stands as another testament of Jesus Christ alongside the Bible. The ordinances and covenants necessary to enter God's kingdom are available through the restored priesthood and temples of worship. As I have acted in faith to believe these gospel principles, the Holy Ghost has confirmed to my heart of these truths. This knowledge affects everything I think, say, and do. I know that I can overcome my mistakes through the Savior. This gospel gives me vision, direction, and hope. I've invited these truths into my life by simply praying daily, studying scriptures daily, and attending church each Sunday. Doing these simple things has brought a lot of power into my life.

How I live my faith

Back home I loved to attend church, read scriptures, pray, attend family home evening, play ward sports, and fulfill my callings. I participated in teaching Sunday school and priesthood meetings, and I tried to share the gospel when the opportunity came. I loved to go to institute during the week to learn about the Revelation of John, missionary preparation, and the Book of Mormon. Now I serve as a full-time missionary in the Iowa Des Moines mission. I love to invite others to learn more about Jesus Christ. I love to see the change that comes into the lives of the people who sincerely seek to know the Savior. I love the fact that we can grow each and every day to become more like the Savior and become happier. Living by faith brings miracles. I believe in miracles, and I know that each of us can expect miracles as we have a vision of our divine potential to accomplish good.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Braden Bybee
No, not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. Serving a mission is a priesthood duty, but sisters are also welcome to serve. Missionary service is a wonderful opportunity to love and help other people, and I am grateful for this opportunity in my life. Show more Show less
