Hi I'm Ben Adamson

I'm a guitar teacher. I love spicy foods. I'm the Senior Class Vice President of my high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 6 children in my family, and am also a proud uncle of 11 nieces and nephews. All of the little guys are so much fun to play with, but they can be overwhelming at times. I love spending time with my family and friends. Hiking is one of my favorite things because I live in such a beautiful place where there is so much to see. Camping with a few of my buddies on the weekends is an ideal way for me to spend my time. I love playing the guitar and singing. Getting together and making music with my friends is one of my favorite things because I love all of the teamwork that it takes and the sound that we can make while working together. I have been teaching guitar lessons to 3 students for just over a year and a half and I love it. I also do a little amateur yoyo-ing on the side. I serve in my school's student government as the Senior Class Vice President and have loved every minute of it so far. I'm not much of an artist, but I like to doodle on my school work from time to time. I have recently received my call to serve in the Spain Málaga Mission, and I look forward to serving for two years, starting this summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and have been a member all my life. I always thought the church was true, but it wasn't until I was about 15 that I truly received my own witness of the truthfulness of this gospel. I wanted so badly to have my own testimony of the gospel, so I prayed for a long time and was overcome with the Spirit who testified to me that this is the true church, and that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Ever since that day, my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel has grown stronger and stronger because of the many powerful experiences that I have had. There have been many times when I have felt scared, alone, helpless, or discouraged, and no earthly thing could make me feel 100% better, but I am always blessed with comfort when I read the words from the Book of Mormon and the Bible, and pray to my Heavenly Father to strengthen me in my trials. I know that God is always mindful of me and every single one of his children. I know that I am a child of God, and knowing that changes the way that I act and helps me to see my life in a more eternal perspective. This gospel brings me so much joy and comfort in life. In the times when I feel the Spirit's presence most strongly, I can only explain the feeling as absolute and overwhelming joy. By keeping the commandments, I am blessed to be able to feel the Spirit and I am free from the grasp of the adversary. When I do slip up or make a mistake, I know that there is always someone to turn to to make me feel free and clean from sin again. Christ is my Redeemer and loving friend. He has always been there for me as long as I have let Him into my life and allowed His everlasting Atonement to heal me. Whether it be sorrow from sin or earthly trials, Christ will always be there to help, comfort, and love me. I know that he lives. I know with Him, there is nothing in this life that I cannot overcome.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I've served with other boys to plan fun and uplifting activities for the youth in our ward. We like to go camping together and spend time with each other on Tuesday nights during our mutual activities. We like to do service activities for other members of our ward and community because we know that by serving His children, we are serving God. I always try my best to be attentive to the promptings of Heavenly Father and to carry them out when I receive them. The things I am prompted to do are not always easy, but they are always worth it. Every day, I try to live my life a little more like Christ would. Sometimes I try to picture the Savior in the room with me, and think of how that would change the way I act. I try to see people as he does, and to love them as well. It's important to me to always live like He is watching me, because I know He is. When I am troubled or am not sure which path to take, I pray to my Heavenly Father to see what He has in mind for me, because I know that His plan is the one that is best for me.
