Hi I'm Arick

I love music and the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently serving in Starke, Florida. My mission will go for a period of 2 years. I have been on the mission for about 7 months now. I love doing just about anything outdoors. I've been camping, hiking, backpacking, rock-climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking in a lot of different parts of southern California. I have also made trips to a few national parks. I am not super good at anyone one sport but I enjoy playing all of them. I’m not a fan of any professional or college sport teams but I have recently gotten into hockey and I enjoy going to hockey games. I love rock music! Alternative rock to be specific. I can't pick a favorite band but my top five not any order would be: Yellowcard, A Day to Remember, All Time Low, Blink-182, and Relient k. My Favorite place to go is the beach! I love the big waves, the sand, and all the excitement at the beach. I usually make multiple trips to the beach every summer and get very sunburned. My all-time favorite super hero is Superman.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have grown up I have come to the knowledge that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's one and only true church. I have come to know that this church is true because as I have read the scriptures and prayed daily the Holy Ghost has testified to me personally that it is true. I have learned that obedience is key in receiving guidance, direction, inspiration, and revelation from Heavenly Father. The Holy Ghost has helped me, through Heavenly Father, to become a better person and have a stronger desire to do what is right. My testimony is continually growing. I have a testimony of my living savior Jesus Christ. I know that it is only through Him that I will be able to return to live again with my Heavenly Father. I know that I was born on earth to have the chance to prove myself to Heavenly Father. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and all of his spirit children who are here on the earth. I know He wants to bless us and help us. I know that I will be as happy as I can possibly be by following the commandments and laws that have been given to everyone by Heavenly Father. Heavenly father gives everyone trials to build our faith. I know that bad things happen to good people but I also know that Heavenly Father will never give anyone any trial that they can't handle. He will be there for us the whole way and he will help us as long as we are willing to do what is right and ask for his help. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

Now that I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my faith has increased significantly. Faith is all about action. I have always believed that attending this church was the right thing for me to do. But now that I have acted and come on a mission my belief has turned into faith. Over these past few months on my mission my faith in certain principles has turned into knowledge. I know this is where I need to be. I absolutely love talking to people about Jesus Christ and inviting them to develop a stronger relationship with Him. The longer I am on my mission the more I come to know that my Savior lives and that He loves me. Every morning I have the opportunity to study the scriptures like The Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon. As I read these books my testimony of Jesus Christ and the truthfulness His Gospel becomes stronger. I feel His spirit with me as I study His words and that spirit stays with me as I go out proclaiming the Gospel to the world. I know that God is real because he answers my prayers. As I live his commandments I know that He will always be there for me. His love for me is so evident through the blessings that I receive daily. His love and the blessings He gives me is what motivates me to live my faith.
