Hi I'm Alicia

I went to Salem Hills High school, am studying counseling at Utah State University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm studying psychology counseling at college, but that's not the only thing i'm interested in. I love playing my violin almost more than anything. I started when I was in 5th grade and have enjoyed being in my school's orchestras. I also have an interest in Drawing. More specifically digital art. I've always enjoyed shows like Fairy tail, One Piece, and Full Metal Alchemist. This probably started my joy of drawing. Now I have my own stories I love to write and draw. I don't intend to go further in these subjects, but I do love them as hobbies. I love birds! Painting birds, taking picture of birds, looking at birds, etc. I have a pet cockatiel named Woodstock who I got when i was 10. I taught him how to sing the chocobo theme from Final Fantasy. I'm taking a break from Utah State University to serve a mission in Sendai, Japan for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My mother and father are both members, as well as most of my extended family. As I was growing up everything I did or followed was right to me. I didn't know any different because of the sheltered life I lived. So many horrible things were going on. I had the gospel. I had the light of God in my life. When you start to walk away from his light you immediately feel the impact. Why are people confused or do these things? Because they have lost site, or have yet to find hope and light. I care deeply for my friends. They look to me for guidance, they feel like they can talk to me about anything, and for that I am grateful. If i can be any help to them in this way, would mean the world to me. This is why I follow the gospel. I can see how it blesses my life, and how it blesses those around me. I can feel the love that God and The Savior show me. It is warm. I believe in the power of the Atonement. God gave his only perfect son to take upon all the sins of the world so that we can return, have an eternal family, and never be lost. Trials are here on this earth so that we may know pain, joy, happiness, and sadness. Our weaknesses will become strong with help from God. I know that if my feet get lost in the dark, as long as my mind is in the light I will never truly be lost. This is why I'm going to serve a mission. To find those who need my help, and to continue the work of my God as much as I can.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the same ward almost my entire life. I knew the people from my town and they knew me. As I grew up in my ward, I got the opportunity to do service with all the other young women and men from it as well. When I moved up to college, I was called as the visiting teacher district supervisor. Here I was shown that it was nice to do service for other people, like cleaning their yards, or helping them with projects, however there is another way. Once a month I would go visit a woman from my ward, and see how she is doing. Just being able to hear about her life, and ask if she needs help is something that everyone wants. This was one of my favorite callings because it not only got me to get out, but it taught me the importance of service, and the importance of understanding those close to you.
