Hi I'm Madison

I'm from Atlanta, GA. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Atlanta, GA. I love the south, and I have the opportunity, now, to serve the wonderful people in Columbia, South Carolina as a missionary while I wait for my visa for Curitiba, Brazil. I love being outside, I love the fall and Halloween. I love music, fashion, and art, and learning about the way people express themselves through these things. I am the oldest of three girls in my family, and I can't think of anyone I love more than my two sisters, I do everything that I can to be a good example to them. I enjoy spending time with the people that I love. I love to laugh, and I strive daily to find further happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

The feelings of the spirit are undeniable when I pray, read, or talk about the gospel. The Book of Mormon was the easiest answer for me to know that the church was true. I know without a doubt that The Book of Mormon is an inspired book of God along with the Bible. If the Book of Mormon is true, the church is true, Joseph Smith was a prophet, and we have a prophet, called by God, here today. I know that through The Bible and The Book of Mormon, together, we have the fullness of Christ's gospel on the earth today. I know that I would follow anything that Heavenly Father asks me to do, and through prayer, and the revelation that He gives to me to direct my life, I know that this is the only true church on the Earth today, and I know that I can follow Him best through the direction and counsel of the prophet, church leaders, and the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am serving as a missionary for the Mormon church. Having the opportunity to follow Jesus Christ more closely than I would have normally has helped me to become much closer to Him. I can understand more clearly, the things that He wants me to do. I have been able to become so aware of the things that should be taking priority in my life, and I am so thankful for that. I love being able to share my testimony of the happiness that the gospel brings me and the blessings I have because of it. I witness, everyday, those around me receiving the joy from these same blessings being brought to their lives through the Christ's gospel.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

God's plan for us to be on this Earth was to have free agency, and the choice to follow him how we please. Drinking, eating, or partaking of anything that can take away your agency and freedom to choose is against his plan. Certain things, such as coffee, tea and tobacco, eventually force your body to rely on something that isn't needed. Other things, such as drugs and alcohol, put you in a state of mind where you are not fully aware of the decisions you are making, which could limit the oppurtunities that are open to you in the future.
