Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Utah. I'm a piano player. I'm a basketball player, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying mathematics. I love being outdoors and participating in such activities as basketball, kayaking, hiking, and camping. I've played both the piano and the french horn for a couple of years now, and I love playing in local symphonies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church with parents that were very supportive of me attending with them. I always knew that God existed, but it wasn't until I was about twelve years old that I knew that the LDS church is God's church on the earth today. It was the first time that I had read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and I decided to take up the challenge at the end of the Book of Moroni that asks us to ask God if the Book of Mormon is true. I knelt and prayed to God with all my heart wanting to know if this truly was his church, but I didn't get an answer that night. I spent the next couple of weeks pondering what this meant. I continued reading from the Book of Mormon and attending church with the hope that I would find the answer there. The answer came to me as I was reading from a chapter in 3 Nephi where Christ is visiting the Americas. As I was reading this chapter I just felt a sudden burst of warmth and I knew then that the Book of Mormon was true. I knew that God knew me and loved me enough to answer my prayer. This meant the world to me, me a 12 year old average kid, and God knew me. I know that God answers prayers and I know that the LDS church is His church here on earth today. I know that He speaks to us through His prophets and apostles. Most importantly I know that Christ lives and that through Him we can return to live with our Father in Heaven once again. Of this I testify, in the name of our savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In my church I'm part of a committee that plans and implements activities for the members of our ward. We have planned such activities as chili cook offs and community service projects. I've also participated as my church's choir piano player. I also check up on and teach about the gospel to a couple members of my church. This is a calling that every adult male participates in so that every member in our church has two adult males they can call upon in case they need any assistance.
