Hi I'm Jerry

I grew up in the sunniest part of California. My wife and I are the parents of 4 children and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired accountant, married for 36+ years with 4 grown children. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 19, was called to serve in the Canada Halifax Mission when I was 21 and had the privilege of serving in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Maine. I briefly met my future wife before my mission at a Young Adult party in desert of South Eastern California. After I returned home we got to know each other better thanks to a friend of hers. We were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. After marrying, I continued my college education and eventually moved to Fresno California, the heart of Central California. Fresno has been our home for the past 37 years.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because I have had many opportunities to feel the love of Heavenly Father (God) and had the Holy Ghost witness to me that the gospel has been restored to the earth again, as has happened in previous dispensations. This, however, is the last dispensation of the Gospel before the return of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is our responsibility to share the gospel with the world, so that all may have the opportunity to accept the love of their Father in Heaven, and receive the blessings of Eternal Life. As I have gone through my life I have learned that Heavenly Father wants each of His children to return and live with Him, to have joy in this life and Eternal Life with Him but knows that each of His children has to desire this enough to be obedient to the Commandments and be comfortable in the presence of God and our Savior Jesus Christ to have this Eternal Life. It is my hope and desire that all of Heavenly Father's children will listen for the sweet promptings of the Holy Ghost, to know for themselves that these thing are true and that Heavenly Father really does love each and every single child of His that has come to earth or that will come to this earth.

How I live my faith

I have served in various positions in the Church from working with the youth of the Church to several leadership positions and clerical positions. Each of these opportunities to serve have taught me different things about being a better more caring and compassionate person. Working with the youth has taught me patience and tolerance. As we would go on campouts with the young men, we would have fun but also work on various task to build teamwork and personal skills. Serving in the more clerical positions has taught me the importance of keeping accurate records and being able to help people maintain their records. Serving in leadership positions has taught me that those that lead are no better or worse than others, just that they have different callings. Fresno was privileged to have a Temple dedicated in April 2000. I have had many wonderful experiences in the Fresno Temple. I have had various experiences serving in the Fresno Temple since 2005 and meeting and working with wonderful people from all over the San Joaquin Valley of California from Porterville to Merced.
