Hi I'm Rachel

I am from California. I am preparing to serve a mission in Barcelona, Spain. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am studying to be a dental hygenist. If I am not at work with children, I am running around outside or in the gym. I love being active and always staying on my toes. I tend to find myself drawn to jobs that care for children because I myself am just one big child. I am currently at home learning and preparing myself to serve a mission in the Barcelona, Spain mission. I never thought I would serve a mission for the church. I was happy in my life at school. School was going well, and my social life played a huge role in school. I woke up one morning however, wanting more in life. I wanted to give back to the Lord that has given me so much. I wanted to do something that would strengthen me and my spirit in ways that I could not comprehend. I came to realize that the only way to find that growth would be through a mission. Now I am preparing to teach and grow and where better to do that than Barcelona!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky to be born into the church. My family has been strong members of this church for many years. I never realized how much of a blessing being born into the church is until I talked with people who had to search on their own. I have held many callings in church such as teaching the 12 to 14 year old girls, teaching Gospel Doctrine classes, helping in the service committees, and teaching the young children in church. When I was younger, I felt like I was just going through the motions. I went to church because that was what we were supposed to do, and because when we were little there were always treats! It wasn't until I went away to college and was able to chose for myself if I was going to go to church or not. It helped that most people at BYU schools go to church, but we still could skip out if we wanted. I realized at that moment that I was going to church because I WANTED to. I wanted the feelings of the spirit. I wanted the Lord's hand in my every day life. I wanted to be close to the Lord. I now KNOW that this church is true and that I am supposed to be going through this motions for myself. The Lord has done so much for me, now it's my turn to do something for him. I get to give back to my Savior and there is nothing more rewarding than that. This is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I try to live this faith every day and in all I do. I try to let the light of Christ shine through me in all my actions. I am currently teaching the 3 to 4 year old children. It is so rewarding to see their smiles and their faces light up through Christ. I know this church is true. I know that I live my life the way I do because Christ gave His life for me. The most I can do is serve Him in as many ways as possible. This gospel has changed my life and will continue to change my life as I learn and grow. I try to put all I have into the things I do and the things I say. I love the Lord and he loves me.
