Hi I'm Brandon

I'm an eighteen year old teenager, living in sunny Arizona, and just enjoy the fun of life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play the piano all the time, and make up my own stuff. I hope to make a career out of composing music. I love running, dancing, just any type of physical exercise. I'm training to hopefully complete an Iron Man by the time I'm twenty five, and I want to complete another when I hit fifty. I have always loved, adored, and followed Harry Potter. I have my very own set of prescription glasses that make me look just like him. Reading is one of my comforts when I feel down. I enjoy the classics like Pride and Prejudice, and some Shakespeare, and also modern styles, such as the Hunger Games, and of course, Harry Potter. I love watching movies, especially with my girlfriend. I taking my girlfriend on dates, making her feel special, and making her feel awkward. I enjoy serving all people, and I love having a good laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life. Born and raised, from Mormon central itself, Utah. I had a friend in high school that wasn't a Mormon, that would say most of us are only Mormon because our parents raised us like that. He said we were 'brainwashed' into thinking that. He did have a valid point. True, that is how I was raised, and true, we grew up being 'brainwashed' about the Mormon religion, but there was a point in my life where, of course, I questioned. When I hit my teenage years, and started to rebel against my parents and their ideals, I often questioned the church. Was God really there? Did he love me? How could he love me? Why should I go to church? So, I decided to find out for myself. I prayed about it. The hardest part for me to come to grips with was Joseph Smith and the restoration. I wanted to know. I needed to know. My whole life I'd been taught this. What if it was a lie? So, I humbled myself before God. I got myself alone in my room, knelt on my knees, and asked with all sincerity if Joseph Smith did indeed see God the Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. And I testify that I got my answer. And now, I know with all my heart, that this is the one, true, fully restored Gospel on this planet. This is the only one capable of bringing about the true and eternal happiness of all mankind. All I want for anybody and everybody is to be happy, and I know that this Gospel is what can give them the ultimate joy. This is indeed Christ's church. I am a Mormon because I know that it is true. I know it with all my heart. The truth is undeniable, and I cannot say anything against it. I am never happier than when I am in the service of my fellowman, and this Church, the Mormon Church, can bring it about the best of anyone out there. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently about to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been called to the Rome, Italy mission, and I don't know a lick of Italian. I hear the Italians are really touchy, and I despise being touched. It'll be an interesting interaction. I can't wait to go, it'll be an experience of a lifetime. So, I am now simply preparing to go on a mission. I need to pay $10,000 to go on one, and I have absolutely no money in the bank, so I 'm working 60 hours a week to get the money. In one job, people smoke to hang out during work (it's a lax job), and I don't participate. In both my jobs, people often swear, and my father swears occasionally. I also do not do this, because I know God's commandments, and he expects me to live them. For my calling in church, I provide the musical services. We have a service on Sunday with musical numbers, and I make sure the music provided brings a spirit of peace and love. I also serve the people of our faith by being a home teacher. That is actually how I was able to meet my girlfriend. We bring the members messages that the modern day prophets want them to hear, at least once a month. We dress in shirt and tie when we meet with them, and make sure they know they can come to us with any problems. Family is a key portion to my faith. I know that families are eternal, so I make it a key effort to always be a good brother and son in my family. I play with my little sisters, help my parents through problems, and keep myself a good example to my siblings. To me, living my faith is to be a representative of Jesus Christ, to follow, to love, and to become like him. That means I should always be willing to help and serve others, be able to sacrifice the wants and desires of my own heart to help others. People should always be wanted, to be able to have someone to love, and someone to weep with. I am willing to be that person for Christ, if that is what he wants me to be.
