Hi I'm Courtney Hamilton

I grew up in Springfield, MO and went to school at BYU-ID. I enjoy reading, writing, music, and xbox. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending college at BYU-ID. I am currently an English major; however, this may change to either psychology or graphic design. I am a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and often teach the young women in my home ward about self-defense and fitness. I am an avid reader and love to write. I am currently working on my fourth novel, though, none have been published as of yet. I listen to music all the time; it is my drug of choice.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a "Mormon" because I didn't find joy anywhere else. There is no other religion that I have looked into that brings me as much peace, hope, and happiness as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My conversion was when I was about twelve years old and I saw my mother fall away from the church after her second divorce. It was a trying time, but through the knowledge I had and relying on Christ, instead of getting angry, I was able to remain a strong member of the church. I know that this it the true gospel of Christ and that he used his prophet, Joseph Smith Jr. to restore it to the earth. I know that Pres. Monson is the president of the church today and along with the other general priesthood leaders are prophets and seers. I know that through the Atonement of Christ all things are possible. I know the temples are houses of our Heavenly Father and in them we can be sealed for the eternities to our families. I love this gospel and I know without a shadow of a doubt that all things that it teaches are true and are of God.

How I live my faith

I live and love my faith. I just got released from my calling in the young women's as an adviser. I have served a lot in the young women's program and thoroughly enjoy it. As of right now, I am preparing to go on a mission to Japan. I live my faith everyday by doing my best to follow the will of the Lord. It isn't always easy, but I know that through His help I can accomplish all things. I also live my faith by frequently sharing my testimony and faith with others when appropriate. I always try to live my life in such a way that people are not surprised that I attend church and am a "Mormon".

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Courtney Hamilton
I love this question because it has such a simple answer. You must pray and study it out in your mind for yourself. In Moroni 10:3-5 it asks us to pray with real intent (which means you will doing something about the answer you recieve) and then by the power of the Holy Ghost will we know the truth of all things. I know that as we pray and follow Heavenly Father's will/ commandments we can feel his love and influence in our lives. He will let all His children (which is every single person on earth) that His gospel has been once again restored on this earth and that His church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
