Hi I'm Allison

I'm a lover of laughter, a lover of creativity, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary serving 18 months in Kiev, Ukraine! After being born on a Navajo reservation in Arizona, being raised climbing trees in Yosemite National Park, California, spending the dreaded "awkward" years of middle school in New Mexico, and then taking root in Utah I never would have seen myself walking the streets of Ukraine trying to speak Russian! I am #6 of two brothers and five sisters. Yes, I'm part of one of those "Utah" families, and they are one of the biggest blessing I've ever had in my life. My family makes it into my Top 5 of favorite things which include cookie dough ice cream (or mint, i can't decide), the smell of vanilla extract, David Bowie, and laughter. I was raised on hand me downs, homemade bread, and being crammed into every available space of a car during long family road trips. I am a lover of all things creative. I am at my happiest when I am creating with my hands. Whether it be crafts, cooking, baking, painting, drawing, or my absolute favorite...ceramics! Clay up the elbows, listening to my favorite music, and seeing my ideas come to life is like therapy to me. I have put my college studies on hold for just a bit longer, but someday i hope to have my own business and sell my work, and spread the joy! If I'm able to make someones day just a little bit brighter then that to me has been a good day!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. However, that does not mean that I was just born converted to this gospel, or simply woke up one day just KNOWING all i have been taught in my life is true. Everyone has a conversion story. Mine has been a life long process. Through all the laughter, joys, sadness, challenges, awkwardness (lots of it), confusion, anger, happiness, questions and lost moments in my life the church has always been there. Even through the doubts i try to choose faith, and as result i am able to become closer and closer to my Savior. I can't imagine a happy life without this gospel. I get to live a life believing that i can live with my family forever, that i can be made clean, that i am loved and known, that someone always knows exactly how i feel. A life of weaknesses but becoming strong through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have a life of purpose, knowing why I am here, where to go, and how to get there. I am a Mormon because i know that a life with this gospel is a good life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking a leap of faith and choosing to serve a mission! I trust the Lord knows what will make me eternally happy and after a life of saying, "i have faith" it was time to put my money where my mouth is and act on that faith. After all that's how faith grows! Though im about as far away from perfect as you can get and have just about every weakness in the book, i look to my Savior, the ultimate example, to show me how to live. To put it simply my faith is my lifestyle!
