Hi I'm Brittney Marie Irene

I was born and raised in a small, southern town in Georgia. I love witnessing random acts of kindness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to work and to be around people. Running long distances is something that makes me feel good about myself. I could live in a library if they would let me. I work at a Residential Treatment Center for teenage girls and working there has helped me grow and mature in ways that I never imagined. It's helped me come to love those around me unconditionally and to accept them fully for who they are and not for what they've done. I almost want to be a kindergarten teacher. Four and five year old children are pure at heart and wear their feelings on their sleeves. They're not ashamed and they're not sure just yet; they're becoming. I constantly search for happiness; happiness in my own life and in the lives of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church a almost five years ago. I was a Sophomore in college and still trying to find out who I was, or who I wanted to be. I had always believed in God. I always remember praying and being aware of His presence. Before I met with the missionaries, I hard started a journal. In it I wrote about how lost I felt spiritually and how I had been searching for an answer. I had been trying to figure out if, and where, I should attend church. The first time I attended the LDS church, I felt at home. I felt like I had found what I'd been searching and waiting for this entire time. I was baptized into the church a few months later. It's been almost five years of struggles, tender mercies, sadness and peace. I continue to follow His gospel because my heart knows that it's true. The gospel doesn't make this life easier; it makes it possible. I'm forever grateful for my Savior, and yours, Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves each of his children. I know the Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, is the Word of God. I can say this, and feel this, because I've prayed and searched my heart for answers.

How I live my faith

I'm blessed with lovely ladies that I get to attend church with. Sometimes, after a hard day, I'll come home to find a sweet note that takes the worries of the day away. I enjoy (even though I'll never admit it when in the moment) giving talks and getting to share my knowledge and experiences with the people in my Ward. I enjoy listening to talks given by others in the Church and reading the scriptures. They truly do bring peace and joy into my life.
