Hi I'm Graham

I live in Stafford, UK, with my wonderful family. I'm a university lecturer in Software Engineering, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been happily married for 27 years; my wife and I have three children and four grandchildren. I lecture in Software Engineering, which is great because I'm busy doing what I love; there's always something new to learn, and interesting ways to help the students succeed. I enjoy digital photography, and have been a member of the local photographic society. I like to make images of the beautiful British countryside, our lovely grandchildren, and the many places we travel to on holiday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was just eight months old when my parents joined the church, so I grew up in the Mormon way. When I was fourteen or fifteen, I decided that I had to know for myself whether this church is from God. After several months of scripture study and prayer, I received my personal witness via the Holy Ghost that the origins of the church and its teachings are from God. The natural consequence of this personal revelation was that I should commit myself wholeheartedly to living by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Over the intervening decades, my personal experience and the observations of life around me has repeatedly confirmed that the teachings of Jesus Christ lead his disciples in paths that tend to peace and happiness. Even in the storms of life, turning to God in sincerity brings much peace and comfort and I find hope for the future. The Mormon way of life is a pathway of love and service that calms troubled waters, heals wounds, and improves lives.

How I live my faith

My faith influences every part of my daily life. At home, at work and at play, I try always to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. At home, we pray and read the scriptures together because we believe that our family can be together forever, even after this life, and we want to find the path God has set out for us. We aim to support each other in our chosen directions in life. I live a healthy lifestyle because I believe that my body is a gift from God. At university, I do my best to help students and colleagues succeed in their work because I believe that we are all children of God and he wants me to show his love to them. At church, I currently serve as a local leader with special responsibility for the young adults (18-30 years old). Many years ago, I served as a missionary in France and Switzerland, and since then I have been a teacher and leader of children, youth, and adults.
