Hi I'm Helen

I live in England and I attend The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints so I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married with 2 step-children and a husband who are not members of the church. I like to create art and crafts and belong to several groups around the world sharing ideas with like minded people.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I was looking for God from an early age. My Grandmother would come every other Sunday and take us to the local Cathoric Church, I attended Girl Guides and we went to the local Anglican Church for Church parade and Sunday School. At School I joined the Good News Club to learn more about God and invited him into my life. When I was a teenager, as family we attended meetings held by Born Again Christians. My dad was brought up Methodist but he never came with us to Church. For me all these Churches didn't seem to be alive they preached at you once a week and lacked a sense of purpose, belonging, unity and a clergy who knew their congregation. I had a chance meeting with the missionaries from The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints and started having the lessons and went to Church. I didn't join for a while but I began to feel a sense of belonging and prayed about it to see if I had found the truth I got a very positive feeling which I hadn't had with other churches and wanted to get baptised. So I became a Mormon!

How I live my faith

For me Church is a way of life, I love the sense of community and the way we look after each other. I live quite far from church and get picked up by people who come out of their way to vollenteer for me to attend Church. I get to visit with the members in my area with a friend, to see if they need help with any Spiritual and physical welfare or just want to talk and get things off their chest. It feels so good to help one another and the community through Helping Hands. At Church I have a calling as Primary Secretary so I help out and share my talents with the teachers and children. I use my computer skills to create a newsletter for the children so they get to know more about each other and have fun. As a woman in the church I am greatly blessed to be able to meet together with the other women to learn new skills or teach each other and share our talents. We also have family activities at church and set aside special family time to be together as a family during the week.
