Hi I'm Joseph Diaz

I grew up in Utah, I run and play guitar, I love being with people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated high school and have received my mission call to the Nicaragua, Managua South mission. In high school, I ran track and cross country, and was involved with my schools ambassador program and senior class program. These activities helped me grow and become the person I am today, as well as meet new people and make many lifelong friends. The friends I have made have helped strengthen me and my testimony through their examples of faith and diligence in the gospel. I am the oldest of five boys in my family and have learned a lot about patience and loving others through the time spent with them.I have worked as a paper boy and at the local library to earn money in order to pay for my mission. I know that serving a mission is worth all the sacrifices made in order to go.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members and because of this, I was born into the church. As I have grown older, I have worked to build a testimony of my own to know that this church is true. I have done this by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know that it is true. Through prayer, I have come to know the truth of the restoration of this church. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church and translated the Book of Mormon, and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I know that God is our Heavenly Father and that he hears and answers our prayers. I know that he loves me and has a hope for me to become the best that I can be.

How I live my faith

I have strived to live my faith by serving in church callings. I have had the privilege of working with a youth council to help plan events to help local youth have opportunities to come together and enjoy the company of other youth with the same faith. Some of these events include dances and games at a local park. I have also had the opportunity to teach lessons in church to help share my testimony of the church with other members and help them find ways to strengthen their own testimonies. I have seen that by teaching others, I also learn a lot and preparing lessons has helped strengthen my faith and know and understand the truth of what I am teaching. I have also had the opportunity in my own home to learn more about the gospel through studying the scriptures with my family, and spending time studying the teachings of prophets and apostles together as a family. I currently am serving a mission in the Nicaragua, Managua South Mission. I will be serving for 2 years and striving to share the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and invite others to learn more about how the gospel can bless their lives. I have seen the happiness and peace the gospel has brought my life and I know that by sharing the message of this gospel and inviting others to learn of Christ and his gospel, I will be able to help others find the same joy and peace I have in my life with my family.
