Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in scenic Idaho, I love the outdoors, I aspire to be a mechanical engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am living a wonderful and productive life, but one of the things that bothers me the most is looking back and seeing opportunities that I should have acted on or handled differently. I realize that life is not going to be perfect for anybody. But none the less it has become one of my goals to be the best I can be in everything I do so that I can look back and not have any regrets. I enjoy doing a wide variety of activities. I participate in many sports ranging from basketball and golf, to track and triathlons. I enjoy serving the people around me and fulfilling my responsibilities that come with being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Above all, I love going into the mountains and witnessing God’s beautiful creations. Some of the interesting hobbies that I have taken up recently include being a member of a competitive Robot Building FRC Team and learning to play Tennis. As a teenager I held some neat jobs that taught me the value of hard work. I started out as the trusty neighborhood lawn mower boy. From there I progressed and became a full time Farm Hand on a vegetable research farm. My senior year I took a really fun summer job and I worked at a drive-in movie theatre. Recently, I worked with small children and help them become the best people that they can be. But now, I am so excited, as I have the opportunity to hold the best full-time job in the world. For the next two years I have the privilege of being a full time missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living my religion and being a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints makes me the happiest person on Earth! Honestly, I believe that my life would be a complete mess without the guidance and love that the church and gospel affords me. Every time I start to have doubts creep into my mind over whether the church is true or not and if this is what I am supposed to be doing with my life I receive a wonderful reconfirmation by the Holy Ghost or by some small miracle that Church is the true and that my life is headed in the right direction. I know that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are real beings that they have tremendous love for every single person that is on this earth. I know that Christ suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, died on the cross, and was resurrected on the third day so that we can be forgiven of our sins and live with him and our Father in Heaven again. I have an absolute testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ’s true church. It is my knowledge of these things that has greatly blessed my life and helped me to become the person that I am today. And that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Durban, South Africa mission. I try to share the wonderful news that Christ’s church has been re-established on the earth today and that we are all able to make it back to live with him someday. Throughout this time of service I am also trying to make myself a better person and pattern my life more completely after Jesus Christ. This involves taking time to read the scriptures, pray, serve others, and keep the commandments the best that I can.
