Hi I'm John

I'm from San Diego, California. I read classic literature, longboard, and go to college in Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew in San Diego, California, the youngest of four boys in my family. Before I left for a full-time mission in Dallas, Texas, I was working on an English Major at Southern Virginia University. Under my parents' influence I fell in love with reading and learning at a young age, and have always been reading a book or studying something in my free time ever since. My other hobbies include surfing, longboarding, writing, spending time with family, and studying the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I feel in the deepest realms of my heart that it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and learned the principles of this gospel. I have prayed about and lived it, and I have felt God's love and the witness of the Holy Ghost, seen evidence of His hand in my life, and know of His power. As I have read the scriptures, prayed, and tried to stay close to God every day, I have felt and seen the difference in my life. I know the Savior lives, that He loves every soul in the human family, and that he paid the price for our mistakes so that we could return to God. I am a Mormon because I have felt nothing but love and joy, and seen nothing but blessings come into my life, because of this Church.

How I live my faith

In May of this year, I began a two-year, full-time mission for the Church. This is a 24/7 commitment--you turn in your application, receive your assignment (mine happens to be in Dallas, Texas), and spend the next 24 giving your heart and soul to inviting others to Christ. Taking this step of faith has had its sacrifices, but my Heavenly Father has blessed far beyond what I have given.
