Hi I'm Mary Morris

I am a Texan. I am a student at BYU. I love nature and summer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Texas, a place I love! I am a student working towards an Elementary Education degree. I am getting ready to serve a full time mission this summer in Reno, Nevada! I have had the chance to learn many different talents, some of my favorites are viola, clay sculptures, diving, and cross country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but at age 14 my faith was tried when my family stopped going to church. I had the choice to follow my family and not go to church or to follow the Lord and go to church by myself. I made the choice to continue being active in the gospel but I was not able to do this alone, I relied heavily on the Lord to strengthen me, the Lord was gracious and placed the loving members of the church in my life to help encourage me. I have gained a personal testimony of this gospel, I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, His Son Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for me. I know that this church has been restored on this earth today through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have a testimony that we having living prophets. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each person, a plan that is made for happiness. I know this is true because I have lived it, experienced it, shared it with others day-in and day-out, but most significantly I have prayed about it. And when I did the Lord answered my prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a active member at church. I love attending church on Sunday and participating in the different meetings throughout the week. At home in Texas I was able to share my faith with others often to friends who were curious about the things I believe. I try to be an example to others through my actions and by actively living the teachings of the gospel. At BYU I have different opportunities to live the gospel such as weekly devotionals, and family home evening.
