Hi I'm Kimmy Freebairn

I know God lives and loves us. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university graduate with my bachelor's degree in Family Studies with a minor in Child Development. I love children! They have so much to teach us about the simple wonders of playing, love and trust. I love to knit, read books and I love to ride my motorcycle. I enjoy learning and sharing what I've learned with others to try and help make their lives better. I served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montreal Canada. I loved this opportunity to serve the Canadian people and to share the message for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am now married and working as a legal assistant. My husband and I love to travel and spend time with our families.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For me, the Church makes sense. I have never questioned my decision to be baptized and stay true to my faith. Each Sunday as I attend church, each day as I study the scriptures and continuously, as I pray through out the day, I feel God's love for me. I know my Savior Jesus Christ came to this earth to live a perfect life, atone and die for all of us that we might be able to be saved from our sins. I know Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God. As I have made mistakes in my life and at times strayed from the teachings of righteous living that I have received, I have been able to turn to my Heavenly Father in prayer and offer up true sorrow for my sins and a desire to change I have been forgiven of my sins. It is because of the selfless, loving act that my Savior Jesus Christ preformed of atoning for my sins that I can receive this forgiveness. What a beautiful knowledge to have! This knowledge is available to all those who seek it. If we turn to God in faithful prayer, believing he will answer and being willing to accept and act upon the answer he gives us, we can all come to the knowledge of our Saviors loving sacrifice. There is life after death. There is a purpose to be good and do good. God loves us. Our Savior, and elder brother, Jesus Christ loves us and it is because of that love, and the great sacrifice he preformed on our behalves, that we can live in the presence of God forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing when Jesus Christ has asked me to do! Well, trying to. I pray in faith knowing God is there listening to me. I read the scriptures to know what I must do to return to live with God and to help out with the day to day decisions and stresses. I attend church services and classes weekly to discuss and learn with others about Christ's teachings and the teachings of ancient and modern prophets. I am currently voluntarily serving in my congregation (known as a ward) as a ward missionary. I get the special assignment of thinking about and carrying out ways to invite others to learn of Jesus Christ, God and how knowing them can better everyone's lives. Ward missionaries also have the joy of being able to share God's love with all around us. Ward missionaries differ from full time missionaries because we serve in the areas we live in instead of traveling to new location. We get to share our joyful messages in our own neighborhoods! We also differ in that we still carry on with our normals lives (i. e. school, work, etc.) in addition to being mindful of sharing our message.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kimmy Freebairn
The simple answer is yes, Mormons are Christians! Mormon is just a nickname of our church. The full name of our church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe Christ is the son of God and that he came to this earth. He lived a perfect life. While he was here, he taught and administered unto the people around him. He preformed many miracles. He atoned for our sin so that we can repent and return to live with him and our Heavenly Father again someday. We believe Christ is alive and that because he was resurrected, we will be resurrected. We teach the principle he taught while he was here on the earth and we strive to live our lives in accordance to those principles. Show more Show less
