Hi I'm Peter John

I was brought up in the Anglican Faith in South Wales, Found the LDS church whilst at university in London, I'm a Mormon

About Me

After being a manager for Sainsbury's near London, for a few years, I went on a mission for the Church. After that I worked for an Outdoor Pursuits Retail firm for many years and recently started selling Car Parts and Tools on the internet. I'm Happily married with six children. I'm also the assistant scout leader in our local scout group.

Why I am a Mormon

If I told you how I joined the Church most of you probably wouldn't believe me. I stopped two people in the street and asked them what they were doing! They said they were missionaries for the LDS Church and this started an interesting conversation... which ended up in me joining the Chruch of Jesus Christ a few months later. Unbelievable, but true. I have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel, which to me just built on a desire to know more about the Gospel I'd already been brought up in. Many Christian denominations have lots of truth which help their members find happiness through Jesus Christ. By joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints I've found increased happiness by having a greater understanding of God's plan for His children. The importance of the family, that we can live together forever, see our loved ones again after death, Be Baptised by ones having authority from God.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in the local branch of our Church for many years and fulfilled many roles, including teaching family history and assisting the local leaders. Amongst other things I'm presently the teacher in the 8-11 aged group sunday school class.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Peter John
A testimony is having the knowledge of a set of truths and accepting that these truths are divine, such as the role of Jesus in God's plan as the redeemer and saviour of the world. Show more Show less
