Hi I'm David

I am an engineer and a musician. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Growing up I loved soccer and music. I was good at school, but didn't really have to work at it much. Before high school I felt like I could choose to focus on playing the trombone really well, playing soccer, or studying for classes. I decided to pursue my academic career because I wasn't sure that I would be able to pursue the others far enough. I have really excelled in school and done my best -- not only to get the best grades, but to internalize and thoroughly understand the concepts taught. I am looking forward to working in the oil and gas industry and making a difference in my field. I secretly hope to make a big discovery or find some amazing new way to operate more efficiently!

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to the conclusion that this lifestyle for me maximizes happiness. I'm definitely happier because I pray and read the scriptures. I'm happier when I'm involved in church services every week. I am happier when I can discuss spiritual issues with others and be completely unified with my family about faith. I am also convinced that through the principles of the gospel as restored by the Prophet, Joseph Smith, any person can improve the quality of his or her life. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by communing with God frequently, by serving others around me, and by living a positive lifestyle. Much of the world is depressing and sad. I do my best to uplift and encourage the people around me. Smiling makes life happier -- both for you, and those who see you. Not everything is to be smiled at, but we can influence and affect more people than we consciously notice by our attitude.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

David
Faith in Jesus Christ builds people. Believing in His doctrine helps us change and become better people. I have seen in my life that many issues or struggles are completely avoided because both my wife and I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This brings us closer to each other and allows for more trust and mutual appreciation. Faith also give us a sense of security and allows us to trust in a higher power. This allows us to be more content, but at the same time, more motivated about the critical issues in life. Show more Show less
