Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I'm a college student, hoping to find a career in family counseling or child advocacy!

About Me

My name is Kelsey. I am 19 years old and I've lived in the same small town my entire life. I am now attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am majoring in Marriage and Family Studies, hoping for a career in Family Counseling/Child Advocacy. I love serving others. I have seen the blessings that come from volunteering and community service through my work with the Special Olympics Idaho program as a Unified Partner.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have been born into a family that has been involved with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for generations. Although I do face temptation like everyone else, I know that what I believe is true. I stand firm in my beliefs and defend them as best as I can. I do constantly get questions about the church and our beliefs from others, and I answer them to the best of my abilities. Being a member of the church has helped me so much in my own life. I feel like I have become a much better person than if I hadn't been born into the gospel. Knowing that others look to me as an example is added pressure, but I readily accept the challenge to be better every single day, because I know that my Heavenly Father and my elder brother Jesus Christ love me unconditionally.

How I live my faith

I grew up in a town where the LDS population is pretty high, so I'm very grateful for the support system that it gave to me during my teenage years. I try to choose the right and be a good example at all times. I have been working for years to gain a testimony of my own. Being a student here at BYU-Idaho has allowed me to better gain my own individual testimony. My favorite part of this college is how you can feel the spirit anywhere on campus. Prayers before every class are the BEST!
