Hi I'm Joshua

I was born in Hong Kong China. I am an avid skier and adventurer. I'm Serving a mission in Finland.

About Me

I am currently preparing for my mission to Helsinki Finland. I am the second to the youngest in a family of three sisters and no brothers (except my dog; he's my brother). My family and I are big skiers; I was on the mountain almost everyday after school. Hiking and repelling are two things that have never gotten old for me. I would often go with my dad to southern Utah to explore new slot canyons and hike in the Colorado mountains. I lived in Asia for the fist 3 years of my life and sadly have near to no memories of it. Apparently we had an old mango tree in the back yard that was blown over during a typhoon. I've grown up in a very adventurous family. My dad sent me a email the other day saying that he had a bike crash while he was on a wooden plank in the mountains. For being able to do what he does at his age is awesome. My mom will probably make sure he isn't going to do any thing too crazy any time soon as a result of his accident.

Why I am a Mormon

It sounds ridiculous to be a part of an organization that claims to know the meaning of life. I was born into the church; I served and was obedient, but I did not understand the truth of the restored gospel till I had a close family friend pass away. It was then when I started to question myself why I followed this religion. It was hard when I realized I didn't understand half of what I claimed to believe. I started to search for my answer if the church was true. The answer I received was more than satisfactory. I still get that same answer no matter how many times I ask. God is very present in our lives. He knows what we individually need, sometimes it's to humble us so we will listen. We have the power though to believe or not in the promptings we will receive, but I know for a fact that God answers prayers! He answered mine. It has been several years now from my friend's accident. She told me, the summer before she died, that she learned the church was true for herself. If she had not told me that, I don't think I would have gone out of my way to ask for myself. I am very happy for her friendship she showed to me.

How I live my faith

I try my best at living my faith. There is much to critique in the world, but it's such a wrong way to view one another. The best way I try to live my faith is to see people and their potential for good. God sent us all to this same place. He sent us to families, friends, communities. We as a world are His children, His creation and His constant work. I trust God knows what is be best for me and I would hope others will come to trust in Him as well.
