Hi I'm Meagan

I was born and raised in Ohio. I'm currently a Photography major at Brigham Young University Idaho. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in, and grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am the youngest of a loving family of six. My oldest brother is married with three children, my oldest sister is recently married, and my other sister is currently serving in the Japan Tokyo mission. I'm currently finishing up my first semester at Brigham Young University Idaho as the first out of my siblings to leave home for college, studying to be a photography major. I enjoy thrilling, outdoor activities such as biking, canoeing/kayaking, rock climbing, white water rafting, camping and much more. I also enjoy movies, cooking/baking, and I love to sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel as though I've always known the church was true. Of course I wasn't sure of the reasons why I knew it was true when I was younger, but I knew based on the feelings I had that it was the right thing to be doing and to be believing. I would trust in my parents and their example they provided for me and I would do what they asked of me without questioning. As I grew older I began to understand more fully why it was true and I could understand more of the principles and I could actually make sense of the things I was being taught. Today there's still not a single thing I would deny about this gospel. I've received witness by the spirit of the Lord that this is the one true church. However, I don't want it to sound like I've lived a perfect life. I've definitely had my share of trying moments. Moments I didn't think I could overcome. I would even get frustrated with myself because I knew what I needed to be doing, but I was in a state of such misery and depression that I had no motivation to seek for the guidance and help I was in need of. I reached a climactic point where I just couldn't take it anymore and I finally turned to my Savior, pleading for forgiveness for all of my mistakes. It was through this experience that I was able to come closer to my Savior stronger than ever. I want to bear my testimony that I know no matter what we're going through our Savior is always there for us and He loves us and is willing to help us through whatever we may be facing. If we can just take the step to turn to Him, He will guide us back to the path we need to be on. Each choice we make in this life is crucial, but no matter how bad of a choice we make, we will always be able to repent and return to our Heavenly Father. I know we are sent on this Earth for a purpose and for an opportunity to learn and grow from our choices, and I know that when we're obedient, we will be blessed tremendously.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I was able to develop a strong habit of attending church every Sunday. I attended youth activities and I've been involved in multiple service opportunities throughout my whole life. I've served in various callings in my ward and I'm currently serving as the visiting teaching supervisor in my Young Single Adults ward.
