Hi I'm Podge

I was born and raised in Ireland. I am a trainee actuary and mathematics student. I'm a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I finished school I worked for a year in a supermarket to save up some money. When I was 19 I served a full time mission for the church in Scotland. I have always had a great fondness for mathematics and so when I came back to Ireland at 21 I started straight into an actuarial degree which I am delighted with and enjoy immensely. I was married in 2012 to a beautiful, sweet, young woman and now I work in a life assurance company.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents became Mormons before they got married in their 20's and so I was brought up with it through my life. I consider myself very lucky to have been brought up with such strong standards. I was brought up to keep myself healthy, physically and spiritually and any success that comes to me in my life I will be able to attribute to how I was taught by my parents in my youth. what I want out of life, is to be happy and thats what the church does for me, it shows me how to live. It teaches me to focus on my family. To try and be a better person every day and to appreciate the hand of God in my life. It gives me purpose and reason. Peace and joy. I know that God lives. That's why im a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my church and I love the joy that comes from it. Sometimes it's hard to balance school, work, family and church time but I know that putting God first helps to sort everything else out. I work closely with the missionaries in the church to help and teach and baptise new members or those unfamiliar with the teachings. I teach a Sunday school class every week and I work alongside the bishop in promoting a friendly atmosphere for everyone who comes to church on Sunday.
