Hi I'm Greg

I grew up in Idaho. I'm a university student studying Finance, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a university student who's doing what he can to survive my senior year and graduate in the spring. I distract myself from my studies by playing intramural sports and watching college and professional sports. I hope to walk away from my college experience with a coveted intramural champion t-shirt. I love woodworking and I'm taking a woodshop class at my university. My experience is slim beyond my class but I plan on having my own shop someday. My projects have been small up to this point mainly a cutting board for my wife and an ice cream scoop. However, I'll be making my first big project this spring, a walnut writing desk.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who actively participated in the church. I trusted my parents as a child that they knew what they were doing and that this truly was the true church of Jesus Christ. As I grew up, I began to have personal spiritual experiences that helped me gain my own witness that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. The first came on a family vacation to church history sites where I had the distinct impression that the sacrifices this individuals made to help the church grow meant something to them and it does to me as well. I've had countless other experiences of varying degrees of a personal witness that testified to my heart that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. My wife and I have recently gone through some difficulties in trying to have kids, and it has been a hard time for the two of us. I'll never claim to understand how difficult that can be for a women in those circumstances, but I do know how hard it can be for a husband who doesn't know what to do for his wife. All I could do was pray, and I know those prayers were heard by a loving Heavenly Father. He has answered and continues to answer those prayers. My life experiences have culminated and grown into the testimony I have today. Little by little my testimony grows as I learn more and more of God's love for me and my family.

How I live my faith

I love to teach my faith to anybody who is willing to listen. I've been told you don't understand a concept until you can teach it to another in a simple and understandable manner. I believe this is true, and for this reason I enjoy opportunities to see how well I understand a gospel topic as I study and teach it to see if I truly get the concept. While teaching I learn so much more than I ever could alone in my studies of the gospel. Gaining the ideas and perspectives of others is a true blessing of being a teacher.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Greg
My wife and I recently lost twin boys in the second term of pregnancy. Without a doubt it is the hardest exp experience I have had in my life. However, the comfort that my wife and I were sealed in the temple and know that our family is eternal has been a tremendous blessing. So the answer to the question of if families can live together in heaven is yes. My knowledge of the plan God has for my family gives me the comfort that my wife and I will have the chance to raise our twin boys after this life. Show more Show less
