Hi I'm Keith

I grew up in Yorkshire. I have been a Mormon all my life. My family are important to me and give meaning to my life.

About Me

I have been married for 27 years and have 2 daughters who are married and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy watching football, playing golf - when I get the time and go-karting. I enjoy holidays in warm countries with nice beaches. When I was 16, I left school and got my first job. My employer sent me to college and later Huddersfield University over an 8 year period. I enjoyed studying alongside working. Aged 27 I moved careers and went into sales of building materails. I did this for 11 years, but eventually travelling across the whole of the UK, 50,000 miles a year and many nights away from home in hotels, was not the life I wanted..... Missing my two daughters acheivements as they went through their early teenage years. Aged 38 years old I went self-employed and started my own business, creating a printed directory of businesses for local homes. It has been hard work, but I enjoy working with my wife and other family members in a business which belongs to us. During this time of being self employed, both my daughters have married. It was a blessing to be at home during the last 7 years and enjoy the memories we have made as a family. Having good health, family around me and trying to find balance in my life has made me content. Sometimes our careers can take us away from the things which matter most in life ...our family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings we learn and live are true. As we think of others rather than ourselves we become truly happy. The Church has brought me some of my happiest experiences and memories, through life's challenges. I look forward to many future happy memories as I see my family grow around me and my wife. I am happy to know that I have a Father in Heaven and my brother Jesus Christ who both love me. I will try to make good choices in my life, as I know this will bring true happiness.

How I live my faith

I serve in my local church as the Bishop's assistant. I help to organise the Sunday meetings each week. We try to care for those in need of help in our local church and the local community. The church has helped my family by arranging educational and inspirational actives. My daughters were involved in activities from 8-12 years, and then progressed into the youth programme..of midweek activities, camping, walks and regular discos for 14-18 year olds, where as many as 500 teenagers would attend. The church has helped to keep my children safer, in troubled times throughout the world. As adults me and my wife help teach classes, and try to be involved in various activities.
