Hi I'm Melissa George

I am British, and love my God, my Country, and am striving to live more fully the true gospel of Jesus Christ upon the Earth.

About Me

I am a student of Law, studying in my last year. I live at home with my parents, and sister. my brother is serving a full time mission for The Church in France, Paris. I have been called by assignment, and have accepted to teach Youth Sunday School in my Ward. I love teaching this group of youth. They are great at participating, learning, and you can see their knowledge that they know God live through their joy and willingness to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the undeniable witness of the Holy Ghost that God lives, that Jesus Christ is His son who died, and lives for me. How do I know this witness is true? Well, I have felt a burning feeling in my heart, and the presence of peace in my mind from the Holy Spirit. His presence is there as I try to live the commandments, as I pray, as I study the scriptures. The witness is one which cannot be denied. It is sure.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through what I do everyday, and what I do at Church. Everyday I say prayers to my Heavenly Father. I talk to him, as though I would my real Father, because I am His daughter. I read the Book of Mormon everyday, it provides me with daily inspiration and guidance in my life. I have two callings (voluntary assignments)I. The first is as a part of the Primary in my church. This involves teaching the children, helping them, and encouraging them in singing and activities. I help keep the register, write the birthday cards, and try to help out in general. I remember one Easter we took the children outside for an Easter egg hunt with a difference. All the plastic eggs had various objects inside relating to the Easter story, such as one had 30 silver coins inside, to represent Jesus' betrayal by Judas for 30 pieces of silver, and another was empty to represent the empty tomb when Jesus was risen. It's fun spending time teaching the children songs, helping them learn the sign language, running around and learning from them as well. My second calling is as a teacher in the Relief Society organisation. I teach lessons of love and service to others once a month to a group of wonderful women, aged 18+. They are all supportive of me, and are caring and special. We have such a strong bond as women in this organisation. I live my faith.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?
