Hi I'm Blythe

I grew up in Southern California. I love learning and love my family! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a college student majoring in Conservation BIology! I love my major and I love to learn! I also enjoy art and love to read. Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, writing, and cooking! I also love being outside in nature and having fun with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love God and his son Jesus Christ. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Gaining a knowledge of whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church, was a gradual process. I now know for myself though that this really is the true gospel of Christ restored on the earth. I know that God is our loving father, and loves each of his children, and that he gives us commandments because he loves us, and knows that the commandments are the true path to happiness. He reveals his commandments to us through prophets, ever since Adam, the first man. He sent his son Christ to die for us and to suffer for all our sins and afflictions, so that we can overcome sin and affliction in this life and live again with our families after we die. I know that God restored the true gospel of Christ, as it was given to Peter and the rest of the twelve apostles when Christ was on the earth, through the modern day prophet Joseph Smith, who translated the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ.. There are prophets and apostles and revelation on the earth today. I know this to be true, and I am so thankful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I love God and always try to keep his commandments. One way I live my faith is by something we call visiting teaching. With visiting teaching, me and a companion are assigned two women to friendship. We give the women a monthly spiritual message, and in addition simply try to be a friend and serve them whenever we can. I love the opportunity to serve and become friends with women in my area.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Blythe
In Malachi 3:10 it says, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Everything we are and have is thanks to God. He gave us our lives and this beautiful world, ancient and modern prophets and apostles to guide us, our family, our success in school and in work, and everything else. He asks simply that we show faith in Him by giving back ten percent of the income that we earn to help further His kingdom upon the earth and to bless His children. He loves us all so very much, and when we act in faith to pay tithing, He really will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings upon us. Whatever form those blessings will take in our lives, I know that God always keeps His promises, and I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to pay tithing to my loving Father in Heaven. Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Blythe
Yes!!!!!!! :) I know with all my heart that family can truly be together forever and this knowledge gives me such great joy!! Through the wonderful plan that has been prepared by our loving Heavenly Father, families truly can be together. My knowledge of this has been strengthened as I have learned more about God's gospel and participated in family history and temple work! Temple work is where we complete ordinances like baptism for those family members of ours that died and did not get the oportunity to have those ordinances done in their life. I love it!!!!! :) Show more Show less
