Hi I'm Jacob

I grew up in Utah. I did ballroom dancing, worked in a metal shop and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Kearns Utah until I was 11, then I moved to Stansbury Park. I worked in a metal shop at my high school for all four years. That was cool, I made metal art, trailers a BBQ and a huge sign for the football stadium. When I was 14 I started ballroom dancing and took off from there, while I'm no pro I started teaching ballroom at 16 with some of my friends. I also sang in my schools choir and learned to play the guitar a bit. I am currently serving a mission for the Church in Southern California. I hope to go into mechanical engineering after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the Church people expect you to be one and do what we do, but this isn't why I am a Mormon. I am a Member because of the experiences I have had. Having wondered at times why my family believed these things and what they meant I began to ask questions. With these questions a desire to know the truth arose in my soul. Now this didn't all happen at once nor has it stopped since, but with these questions I could go to many sources, but there was only source that wouldn't be biased. I had to go to Heavenly Father. I knew, before these questions came, that Heavenly Father answered prayers, I had seen it. I prayed to Him and received my own witness that Jesus is the Christ, God is our Father and that this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is true. No one can deny what I experienced, for I know what it was. That is why I am a Mormon, because Heavenly Father told me it was the true Church and still does to this day.

How I live my faith

I try live my life in a way that is modeled after Christ's life. I seek to help those in need. I honestly try to go about doing good. I also try to be friends with as many as will let me, no matter who they are or what they have done. I continue to learn about Christ and seek to love others as he did.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Jacob
There is nothing secret going on in our temples. We do however receive very sacred ordinances, that help us come closer to our Father in Heaven and our families. It is out of respect and love for God that we don't go around and tell people these things. Only some members are allowed in because some are not prepared to receive these ordinances. In our temples we can become united as husband, wife and family for not only this life but forever. Show more Show less
