Hi I'm Nigel

I have been born and live in the UK and I am a mormom of 30+ yrs. This has changed my life for the good.

About Me

One of my hobbies is card making, (birthday, christmas etc) I am married and we have one child and 5 grandchildren (all girls) I am 76 yrs old and have had a full and varied life( from postman, baker, milkman, bus driver, taxi driver) in fact you name it and I have perhaps done it. I am also a counsellor and have practiced both in my church and in Leicester where we used to live. Before we came to Peterborough we lived in Leicester and had our own business (a care agency) supplying care staff to private homes and to care homes. We have now retired. Now we enjoy the grandchildren ( when they come to visit).

Why I am a Mormon

We became mormons in 1979 because my wife and myself had only just met each other and Anne was a catholic and I was C of E so we were introduced to the mormon faith by a missionary that came to the door. After studying it for quite a while (about a year) we decided that it was completely true what were were taught and so was baptised by full emersion. I now know with out a doubt that this is the true church of Christ (as it was in the days that he was on the earth) and that my wife and myself have been married in our temple and sealed together for time and all eternity. I cannot imagine what life would be like without the church, just another person without any where to go. Our lives have been changed so much over the past 30+ years.

How I live my faith

I am the caretaker of our church here in Peterborough, I also have a teaching position (every fourth week) Both my wife and myself have in the past taught the youth classes and have had the good fortune to see how the knowledge of what we teach change their lives. Once a month I go out with a companion to do home-teaching, this is where we visit the homes of members and care for them, we also take a small message to them from one of our prophets. I was also a cub scout leader for 5yrs for our church pack.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith is a Prophet of our church, we only worship our Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We truly respect him for bringing the gospel back on the earth. Show more Show less
