Hi I'm Nicola

I'm a primary school teacher. I laugh a lot. I'm kind of ditzy! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work as a primary school teacher and I love my job! I feel it is such a privilege to work with the young children who are in my care. They teach me more than I teach them! I am generally a happy girl who loves to laugh. Laughing is my hobby! I love being with my friends and having adventures. I have some of the best friends in the world. I also love spending time with my little niece. She makes me smile :D

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church is true! I came into contact with the church when I was 11 years old. My mother met my step father who was a member of the church. We invited the missionaries to teach us about the church. My mother was baptised, but I didn't feel ready. It took me a long time to be ready! But at the age of 20 years old, after going to church for a long time and living the standards of the church I was baptised too. I can honestly say it is the best decision I have ever made. I do not regret waiting so long to make this decision because I found out for myself, that it is true and right. A lot of people helped me get to that point, including enthusiastic missionaries and caring and patient friends. I am grateful for those people who didn't give up on me. I have received answers to prayers and had a confirmation that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know anyone who has a real intent to know this can have these answers too. Never give up!

How I live my faith

Currently in church I have a calling or responsibility with the young women who are aged 12-17. I have to travel across North Wales to visit some of these girls. I love it! I love to see how the church can help the girls over come trails and hardships in their lives. I also love to see them have fun and build friendships together. It is so special for me to hear the girls explain how they feel about the church and it strengthens how I feel about the church. I remember what it was like to be a teenage girl (it wasn't that long ago!), so I hope I can be an example to the girls and help them in whatever way they need.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Pray! I think of it like this... If we want to get to know someone we talk to them! The only way we will get to know our Father in Heaven is to talk to Him. But included in that we need to listen. Imagine having a one sided conversation with a friend. Imagine them just talking at you and then not listening to what you have to say. How frustrating! But imagine having a conversation with a friend who talks and also listens to what you have to say. This is what prayer should be like. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants to communicate with us and I know He does. Show more Show less
