Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in London, i now live in Gateshead. I am a teacher, a netball coach/player. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in London but moved to the North of England 8 years ago and i love it here. I am a teacher and dyslexia specialist and i love sports. I set up and run a netball team at work and enjoy playing in the 'Back to Netball' league. I would like to say i am a runner too, but i am not very good at it, but i try and that's all that matters hey. I am a volunteer Health Trainer and Wellbeing Champion and i like to help people get active and enjoy sport. I like to arrange activities for people to get together to exercise, chat and make new friends and i run these activities at least twice a week. I like to encourage women to participate in sports that normally wouldn't have the confidence. My motto is, If there is something you want to do but nowhere to do it, go set it up yourself.' This has helped me so much with my confidence.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because i know this gospel is true. I was converted to the church 13 years ago and it changed my life. I found peace, comfort and happiness that is so difficult to put in to words because it is just so amazing. I love the Saviour and i know this is his true church and that i can come closer to him by learning about him and serving him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with a smile. I try to be kind and thoughtful to all i meet. I try to be the best person i can be. I organise lessons and events at church and support others. The best way I think I live my faith in Jesus Christ is to help others and to listen.
