Hi I'm Sherrill

I grew up in Washington state in an active Mormon family. I now live in England with my husband and 5 daughters.

About Me

I was born in the beautiful rainy northwest of Washington state. I loved being surrounded by water mountains and greenery. My family felt perfect growing up with five sisters, strong in the Mormon faith back to the pioneers. After high school I became a dental assistant in Utah and loved the change of scenery. I met my husband from Kentucky there. We now have 5 daughters of our own and love the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire, England. I am a stay at home mom. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mormon heritage goes back to the pioneers. Some even immigrating from Sweden. I relied heavily upon my parents faith until I was in the youth program. I had amazing youth leaders that encouraged service and building our own independent faith. My first memory of "knowing for myself" was at a large youth convention where the speaker told of his brother "J.C." and spoke of the mission his brother was called to do for him. He spoke of his brother knowing all that his mission would entail and in the end his brother paying the "ultimate price" and dying. He then testified that this brother is a brother to us all. That really helped me internalize all that Jesus has done for each one of us. As I've grown, I've realized more and more gospel truths that strengthen why I know this is the true church on our earth today. We have all of the same principles, powers, and doctrine restored to earth now, that Jesus taught in his time. I think that a religion patterned after the religion Christ taught when he was here on earth is the surest way to return to our Heavenly Father. I love that when we read about prophets in the bible, we know that the priesthood power was restored through heavenly messengers and we have that same priesthood power restored to us. We have a prophet for us to testify and receive revelation for us in our modern times that will not deviate from what Christ taught when He was on the earth. We have temples as in times of Christ and because of these we can be with our families even after we die. Such a comfort. My family means so much to me and I want to do all I know to be with them in the eternities. I know that if I follow all that Jesus taught when he was on the earth, and follow our prophets modern revelations that I will indeed return to Heavenly Father and be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I get to work with the young women of our church aged twelve to eighteen. I organize the Sunday lessons and the weekly activities. As a family we look forward to our weekly family home evenings. Reading from the scriptures and saying nightly family prayer has become such a comfort to our children. One of them even briefly came home in the middle of one of her first sleepovers at the neighbors to have that added comfort and participate in our family prayer and scripture study that evening.
