Hi I'm Simon Evans

I am the youngest of four boys,a Husband,Uncle to 10, I grew up and live in Bristol and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Having spent a year unemployed, I understand what it's like to feel as though you have no purpose or reason to get up in the morning. But because of my knowledge of the gospel, I understood that there is a greater purpose for me in my life. I am now grateful to be working full time as a Sales Executive for an energy assessment company based just outside of Bristol, in a town called Chipping Sodbury. I have been doing this for half a year, and am really enjoying learning about a new industry and using skills that I learned as a full-time missionary in Madagascar. The time that I was on my mission will always be a special time in my life. I will never forget the people that I met there and also the things that I learnt. I am a really big sports fan. I love to play most sports and am a massive Arsenal fan.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 16 years old, I went on holiday to America with my Mum and Dad and my brother James. We where lucky enough to go and see some of the places that are important in the history of the restoration of the church. We where also able to go to Salt Lake City and be at general conference that April. This was a very important time for me in my conversion process. As I grew up going to church, my parents had always taken me to church and had taught me that I needed to know for myself if being a member of the church and living the gospel was the right thing to do. I remember always trusting that my parents would never ask me or teach me to do something that was not right or best for me to do. On this holiday I took the opportunity to find a quiet place, and pray to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I knew it was very important for me to have that understanding and knowledge for myself and not just trust my parents. I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that what I was doing and how I was living was the way that my Heavenly Father wanted me to live. One of the biggest reasons that I am a Mormon is because of the knowledge and understanding that it gives me of who I am, why I am on earth and where I will be after I die. Also that if I live my life in the way that I should, I will be able to live with my family forever after this life. I love this gospel so much.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking things one day at a time. I do my best to follow the teachings of Christ and his prophets. I feel very privileged to live in a country where there are not one but two temples that I can go to. I have set myself a goal to attend the temple at least once a month. Since I have started to doing this ( September 2012) I have felt and seen a difference in my relationship with my Heavenly Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ. I enjoy going to church every Sunday to learn and worship with other people who have the same beliefs as I do. I try to help others in whatever way that I can.
