Hi I'm Beau

I'm married, have 5 daughters, and design an iPhone/iPad app for fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from Kentucky, USA and grew up in a family of 10. I'm married, have five daughters of my own (expecting another child soon!) and currently live in England. My hobbies include playing the guitar, horse riding, working out, and developing an iPhone/iPad fitness App. I enjoy visiting new places with my family and discovering the beautiful world we live in.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a Mormon my whole life. Before I was born, my father joined the Mormon church and has been an example to me of faithfulness my entire life. Right before I served a two year mission in Ecuador for the church, I knew that I had to know for myself, without any doubts, that the Book of Mormon was scripture and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Although I've studied all of the scriptures my whole life, I had never never knelt down in prayer and asked God for an answer to their truth. One night I knelt down, prayed to know if what I was about to teach about the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I immediately felt God's love in my heart reminding me that I already knew it was true. Years of study and good example by family, teachers, and friends had been part of my answer. I just needed to know from God himself, and this prayer this night satisfied my soul. I have received many answers to many prayers since. For example, if the woman that I thought I should marry was the right choice? If our family should move overseas to work and live? Each time I have been comforted and inspired by God's answers to prayer and I testify that God does indeed answer prayers.

How I live my faith

I've had many opportunities to live my faith through church assignments and responsibilities and in turn my life has been blessed through others service. I've helped organized Sunday services by coordinating speakers, hymns, and prayers. I've been able to teach Sunday school classes, both young and old. Currently I work with the teenage youth of our church and help them gain greater faith through service and obeying God's laws. Above all, I find the most happiness through service in my own family. Seeing my children grow up in both the gospel of Jesus Christ and in their schooling, and overcoming challenges by making right choices, brings me the most joy. I live my faith by making my family the number one priority. When I do this, I find I have plenty of time for work, my family, church service, and myself.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Beau
Mormons love grace. Why? Because we aren't perfect. In our quest to become more like God, we fail, sometimes often. It is only through God's grace that we have hope of returning to His presence. This doesn't mean that we don't need to try to become more like him. I learn the most about myself and God from trying to obey all of his commandments, failing often, learning from my mistakes, and doing better the next time. Faith gives me the confidence to try, works guide my actions, and grace makes it all possible. Show more Show less
