Hi I'm Chris

I am a father of 5 beautiful children. I love Rugby League. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a father of 5 wonderful children who teach me every day about being a better person. I love spending time with my family. On of my favourite things to do is to sit as a family and have a meal. We eat and talk about our day and share our experiences together. I love Rugby League along with my son and look forward to each weekend where we will sit down and watch our favourite team play on TV. It's great to see him so excited as his favourite players score a try, although I often have to calm him down. As a father of five with a full time job and a wife at University, there isn't a huge amount of time left so grabbing any opportunity to have a day out or doing a family activity is always a really great bonus.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been brought up in the Church, so my conversion has been a process rather than a one off occasion. Deep down, I have always known that their is a God. I have always felt that there is something more to his earthly existence than just getting through, even if I have not always been able to pu my finger on what it was. The pivotal moment in defining my belief and faith came when I took the leap of faith and embarked on a 2 year mission in Paris, France. During that time I had the opportunity to share my beliefs with the wonderful French people and in so doing, I found that my love of my Saviour, Jesus Christ grew stronger and deeper. I am a Mormon because I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan to help me return to live with him. As part of that plan, certain ordinances, such as baptism are essential. I believe that this is the Lords church, restored to the earth in our day and that the authority to perform these ordinances has been restored. I want to live with my Heavenly Father, my Saviour Jesus Christ and my family after I pass from this mortal existence and I know that through the ordinances of the Church and through Living a selfless life I can achieve this.

How I live my faith

I believe that the Gospel is meant to be lived and not just learned. I try every day to help my family come closer to Christ by small little acts of Christlike service. We start every meal with a prayer, we try and read from the scriptures whenever we can and every week we share an evening singing, learning and having fun together. One of my favourite things to do is visit with members of the church in their homes and talk with them about the things most important to them. I love to hear the stories of the experiences they have had in their lives, particularly those related to living their religion. After a busy day at work, the natural man inside me wants to just go home and switch off, but every time I put others first and forget myself, the rewards are greater than I could ever eject and I always come away more energised.
