Hi I'm Rachel Rickett

I'm 19 years old. I love to sing and dance and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Rachel. I've lived in Colorado, California, Massachusetts, and Texas. I have 7 people in my family. An older brother and two older sisters, me and one younger sister. I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy playing games together and going on bike rides. I love to dance. I was on my high school dance team for 3 years. I also love to go running, biking, and swimming.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born into the church but I firmly believe that everyone must go through a conversion process whether you have been born into the church or you are investigating it. I am a Mormon because I have studied and prayed to find out if what is taught really is true. I knew my testimony needed to be mine and not my parents. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to find out if the book really was translated by a prophet of God. I know through the feelings of the Holy Ghost that it is. I know that the book of Mormon is the word of God and that it has been given to us to help guide our lives. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that by living by the standards that God has given his children and keeping the commandments I have been brought so much happiness and have been given freedom. I know that God's way is the only happy way to live. I am a Mormon because I know how it has blessed my family to have more unity and peace. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. It has blessed me more than I can express. I can't imagine my life without it and I want everyone to have the same blessings and happiness.

How I live my faith

I love being apart of this church. Along with being spiritually uplifted it provides a way to serve the community. Each year we participate in many service projects. The youth always do a special youth project to help people in the community. One of my favorites was attending the special Olympics and being able to help them as they participated in the games. Another service project we did was sending care packages to soldiers in Iraq at Christmas. Service is a big part of our church. We believe when we serve each other and do things to show others kindness we are serving the lord. Outside of this I try to live my life with high standards. As all people are I am imperfect, but I do my best to do things with honesty and integrity. I want to live my life in a way pleasing to the Lord.
