Hi I'm Stephanie

I love the 80's. I'm a work in progress. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in the 90's but love the 80's. Big fan of the oxford comma. Decent roller skater and decorator. Sometimes I binge watch Star Trek or Perry Mason. Thrift store shopping is my favorite pastime. Tomato basil soup is the best kind of soup, and the best burritos come from Chipotle. Ice cream cheers me up on a bad day. My broken Spanglish is better than my broken Latin. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and Vans on my feet. Learning and growing is what I'm all about.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone, and that those who come to Him can become "new creatures." (2 Cor. 5:17) I have seen this change from the old creature to the new happen to me in my life and I can feel myself becoming better every day. There is hope for me when I mess up (which I do on a daily basis), and there is comfort for me when I need it. I have truly felt the pure love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for me personally, as well as the love they have for each of us. I know that Heavenly Father loves us! We are His children. He wants us to be happy and to live with Him again. I know that if we do what He asks, we can have this happiness, here in this life and in the next. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that we can come closer to Christ by reading it. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just another religion. By study and prayer I have learned for myself that it is the church of God on earth today, and I know that He directs it. The world today is full of messages that all religions are basically the same teachings and that we all will get back there someday so it doesn't matter the route. Well, that simply isn't true. Our actions matter and we will be held responsible for them. And because our actions matter, the way we get back to God matters too. He has established His Church, His Way on the earth for us to follow. He sent His beloved Son to show us how. The very Church that Christ established is back on the earth and the way that we will receive salvation is by following His teachings. I am a member of this church because I know for a surety that I will be able to live with my Heavenly Father and dwell in His presence again because He gave me the way. It's a sure plan that I can rely on and know that I can make it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. "Stand for the right and sit for the wrong" has been a motto of mine since I was small. I try to do better every day. When I make mistakes, I know that I can try again, and I do! I treat others with kindness and I truly try to see their point of view and love them for who they are-- as well as who they can become.
