Hi I'm Ivor

I joined the church 42 years ago and it is the best decision I ever made and I know familes can be together forever.

About Me

I joined the church as a 13 year old with my family. I had a religious background but didn't realy know my Heavenly Father or I know that they love me and each and every one of us and I do know that they want the best for us. No matter what trials we have to go through, how much someone may have hurt us, they are there for us - to carry, walk beside and guide us whilst we go through these tough times until we are ready to walk unaided again. I know, I have been carried and helped during my darkes hours I also know that prayer is a great thing and that our Heavenly Father has listened to and answered my prayers, not always in the way I wanted or expected because I can only see the here and now but He can see the eternaties and he knows what is best for me. Don't take my word for it though, why not try prayer for yourself and see what happens?

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be a member of the Church of England but I didn't receive the answers that I sought. As a youngster my family moved around quite a bit through my father's job in the police force, never staying in one place more than 2 or 3 years. As a regular church goer (I was a choir boy) I would listen to the vicars give their sermons and the vicars in each area I lived seemed to have differencing opinions as to the following questions: Where did we come from? Why are we are here? Where do we go to after death? And, what is the point of living? I received the answers to my questions when the missionaries taught my family the gospel message. Now I know through study and prayer that through the guidance of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true and the word of God, it being another witness of Jesus Christ. I also know that families can be together forever and not just 'until death do we part', but life with our loved ones can go on in a family unit throughout the eternities. I know that we are guided by a prophet of the Lord, someone who has been called and anointed as head of His church on the earth just as it was in the times of the Old and New Testaments in the Bible. I know that I have a chance, also, to return to my Heavenly Father as long as I do my part through serving and loving others and doing my best in all that my Heavenly Father asks of me.

How I live my faith

I am currently the spiritual leader of our unit, the Bishop. I try and help and guide those who are in need, not only those who are memebers of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints but others too.
