Hi I'm Rachel Basko

I'm from Maine. I'm going on a mission to Taichung, Taiwan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to college at BYU Idaho. I have a twin sister who is also going to BYU Idaho. I love hanging out with here. I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I love it but I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with it. I love reading and watching movies with friends. I'm a fan of Doctor Who. I am from Maine and I have lived there for the majority of my life. I love the woods and being surrounded by nature. I love going to the beach and walking along the ocean.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Heavenly Father is always watching and that he is mindful of the things that I need. I know that I can pray and will receive an answer, though this answer might not come right away I know that I will receive an answer. I have seen the light of Christ in others lives and I want to have that same light. They have joy and are filled with happiness. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith saw Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that there is a living prophet today and he still receives revelation from Heavenly Father. I know that through study and pondering that anyone can receive an answer about the things that are bothering them. I have seen the difference between living in the world and living by the church standards. When I live by the church standards I feel safer and I am happier. If I am having trouble in my life I know that I can put my trust in the Lord and things will work out.

How I live my faith

This is where I find comfort and peace. I feel the Savior's love with I serve others. I will be serving a mission in Taiwan and it will be a great experience. I know that Heavenly Father is there for everyone and will never leave us comfortless. I am always amazed by Christ willingness to do Heavenly Father's will. Christ atoned for everyone's sins. Because of Christ's sacrifice everyone has the opportunity to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that Heavenly Father loves everyone. He is not a respecter of persons, he know each of us individually and loves us even though we make mistakes. We are able to repent and be forgiven of our sins that way we can live with him again.
