Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Michigan, Japan, and China. I love music. I'm a student. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a sophomore at BYU, studying public relations. I love singing, eating, writing, reading, and life in general. I am from Rochester, MI, but spent time overseas while growing up. My time living in Asia contributed to my love of travel and trying new foods. I am the youngest of three children and am very fortunate to have two older siblings and two wonderful parents to look up to. I'm currently serving as a missionary in Taiwan and am so grateful to have the opportunity to dedicate 18 months to serving the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the hopeful message of this church and the opportunity it gives people to become better through the power of Christ's atonement. This church teaches that the message of the atonement is one of hope and teaches all people that coming to Christ allows us to escape the worries of the world. I grew up in the mormon faith and always trusted in the faith of my parents. I saw what happiness the gospel brought my family and I wanted that happiness for myself and my future family. As I've grown, I've gained a testimony and faith of my own. Sacrifice and trial has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and helped me find great purpose and meaning in life.

How I live my faith

I've spent most of my life living in areas where there are few, if any members, so I learned at a very young age the importance of being an example to others and living what I believe in. After overcoming some shyness, I've begun to realize the importance of being proud of my faith and reflecting that love for my faith in everything I do and say.
