Hi I'm Harrison

I am serving a two year mission starting May 15th, 2013 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in North Carolina and love the beach, mountains and lakes we have in our state. I have five brothers, a Mom and Dad, two sister-in-laws, four nephews, and one niece, with more on the way I'm sure. I love my big family. I also love playing basketball, watching college basketball, and eating good food. I spent my freshman year at Brigham Young University and received my mission call to the Honduras San Pedro Sula Mission. I will be in Honduras for the next two years of my life, from May 2013 to May 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

My Church has provided me with a full knowledge of what Christ can do for me in my life, and I want to share that knowledge with everyone. I am extremely happy, and I want others to feel that same happiness. Growing up a Mormon, I have been taught since I was little about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, but I had to know it was true for myself. Through much prayer, and scripture study, I was able to come to know this for myself, and develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Christ is literally our elder brother, and that he loves all of us very much. That is why he died for us, when he did not have to. He died and preformed the atonement so that we could live with our Father in Heaven again. Through Christ both mercy and justice were fulfilled. Atoning for only our sins would have sufficed, but Christ did not stop there and suffered for all of our pains, afflictions and sorrows as well. He is able to relate to you on a whole different level because he has experienced everything you will. He is there for you. Knowing this, and knowing that if I make a mistake I can still repent and all is not lost, brings me great peace and happiness. I want to share that message of peace, hope, and happiness with everyone in the world. I want them to know that they have a Father in Heaven who loves them and knows them by name, and that through His son they are able to live with him again some day.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the Southern region of the United States, many of my friends and classmates didn't know what Mormons were, or had the wrong idea about them. I had many opportunities growing up to tell people about my church, and to be an example of what a Mormon lived like. I am excited to now teach the people in Honduras about our church, about Jesus Christ, and be a representative of Him for the next two years.
