Hi I'm Carlie

I grew up in Salt Lake, I want to be a teacher. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of being a teacher. I would line my teddy bears up and teach them how to add and subtract. When I got older the dream did not fade. Now I am going to college, studying for what I have always wanted. I love to hike! There are few things that make me happier than going and just being in the mountains. It is pretty amazing how beautiful they can be. I love to just be outside. It does not have to specifically be in the mountains. I love to play Frisbee in the park, go for a run, or go skiing. Whatever will take me outside on a beautiful day! If I could I would eat all day. I love to bake delicious foods. I love people! I hate being alone, and love to surround myself with as many family and friends as I can. It is pretty amazing how much I can learn when I am around people I feel close to. I love to learn! I don't care if it is some great life lesson from a friend or some piece of trivia like which state in the U.S. has the smallest population. Cramming knowledge into my brain is my favorite so college life could not be better for me! I love to laugh! Those moments when you can't help but giggle because of some memory or something a friend said are some of my favorite moments i have ever had!

Why I am a Mormon

This is a question I have asked myself many times. I grew up in the church and as a result I often ponder why I still love it. I never want to just think something is true because my parents told me it is true. I want to find truth whether my parents and the rest of my family know it is true or not. I found truth in this gospel! I don't understand all of it, but the parts that I have studied in my mind and heart have rang true to me. That is such a precious thing that I am not willing to give up! Truth is not easy to find. Most of all, I cannot deny the Book of Mormon. Without the Book Of Mormon I don't know where I would be! That book is true! Its teachings and testimonies will only bring us closer to Christ because the is who they are testifying about! I have found that as I read the Book of Mormon and pray I have gotten closer to my God and my Savior. I don't know what could be more excellent than that.

How I live my faith

I love being Mormon! that sounds so nerdy but I do! I live it by loving as many people as I can! In the end, that is what all of this doctrine is about. It is about discovering how loved I am by my Heavenly Father and how much I want to share that with everyone around me. Once I discovered how loved I am it is hard to not love the people around you. I don't do anything truly great. I have never been asked to do anything major in my church but I try to help people in the community. I am part of clubs and organizations outside of my church that allow me to spend one on one time with people in the community who need extra support. Some examples are Best Buddies (an organization that pairs people up with someone in the community who has a disability) PALS (a organization that pairs people up with a child who lives in an underprivileged home). My favorite program in the church is visiting teaching. Basically my job is to go and talk to a sister in my ward. I love sitting and learning the story of other sisters in my ward. It is fun, because the people I get assigned to are usually not people that I would already be friends with so I get to know someone with a new personality. Most of all, I try to strengthen my family! I was blessed with the greatest a
