Hi I'm Paul

I was born and raised in the UK, now living in Canada with my wife and 3 wonderful children, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a boarding school, served a Mission for the Church, gained a Bachelor's degree, Married my sweetheart, gained a Master's degree and have 3 wonderful children. I enjoy my career in IT, it's varied and constantly changing which is fun. I enjoy to travel with my family, whether it's to Egypt, Florida, Rural New York or Europe. We'd still love to visit Hawaii and China when funds permit. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life, and have taught my children from birth that they are Son's and Daughter's of a loving Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

Despite my parents joining the Church prior to my birth, I still had to find out for myself whether it was right for me. I had to find out who God my Eternal Father was and what my relationship was to him, it was only through desperate prayer and fasting that I found out what my purpose here on earth was. Whilst reading the Book of Mormon it was only when I read Moroni 10:3-5 and understood the challenge and Promise given there and put it into practice that I truly believed it was the Word of God, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Christ, he died for me, he was resurrected so that one day I would have the same opportunity to return and live with him and our Father in Heaven. I am grateful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

My faith is central to who I am, as a family we pray together, we eat together at least once a day so that we can discuss our day's happenings. We worship together and love to spend time together as a family, whether it's going out for an ice-cream or watching a DVD. I have spent time throughout Europe working with the Church, I spent 2 years in Taiwan learning to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Mandarin Chinese when I was 19, a wonderful opportunity that has given me experiences that have lasted and will be with me for the remainder of my life. I enjoy the fact that we are all volunteers, depending upon where the Lord needs us depends upon what we are called to do, Teaching, leading, speaking etc.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Paul
We believe that every Man, Woman and Child that has lived on the Earth and will live on the Earth Must be given the same opportunities to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for those that died without ever hearing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we perform Baptism's by proxy for them so that they can chose whether they want to be members or not.
