Hi I'm Nick Howard

I grew up in Alabama. I am serving a mission in Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Washington but, was raised in Alabama. I have played soccer all my life and went to loads of church activities. I went to scouts and eventually worked my way to Eagle. I was a little shy during school, but afterwards I would play outside and go to friends houses, most of which were friends from church. My high school years were definitely my favorite, I really started to talk to everyone in my classes and tried to get to know as many people as I could. When I was 16 I got a job at a movie theater. I think that the job made me really come out of my shell. It forced me to talk to strangers like they were my best friends and made me be nice to co-workers that were an absolute nuisance. I worked my way up and worked in management, at the age of 18. I think that this job has made me so much more outgoing and caring for those who I do not know. I am currently serving a mission in Brazil Sao Paulo, it is starting to be the best two years of my life. After they announced my call over the pulpit it seemed like everybody either: served in Brazil, knows a relative who served there, or knows crazy stories about South America. Its amazing how excited people are for me to serve. I love it. It makes me feel like I am doing the right thing and that I am supported back home.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out a Mormon because my parents were members, and I was raised in the church ever since i was born. I am still a Mormon because I know the things that I have been taught are true. I know these things through prayer and faith. I am Mormon because I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ lives and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. Because I know that through the power of the priesthood all things are possible. Because I know that if I stay on the straight and narrow, my Father in Heaven will bless me. Because I know that if I do all the "Sunday school things" (read my scriptures, pray daily, and go to church) then I can have a better relationship with my Eternal Father and I can learn more every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seizing the small opportunities to share my testimony. By serving an honorable full time mission and talking as many people as will listen. I live my faith every day by keeping my Savior, Jesus Christ. in the forefront of my mind.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Nick Howard
We baptize new members because it is one of the best ways to show commitment to living a new life style. A life style that is more dedicated to living as Christ would. When we are baptized we are cleansed from our sins and we covenant with our Heavenly Father to never sin again. Never the less, no one is perfect and we all sin, thankfully, when we partake the sacrament, worthily, then we renew our covenant with God the Father and it is as if we are baptized again. After taking the sacrament, we are clean once more and strive with our every might to keep the covenant we have made with God. The baptizing of new members is a sacred opportunity and choice that they make to make this covenant with God to live a better life. Show more Show less
