Hi I'm Karissa Winterton

I was born and raised on a farm in Utah. I'm serving a mission in Houston, Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Utah in a beautiful mountain valley home by my incredible parents. I have four sisters who are the best examples and best friends I could have ever asked for. I graduated high school in 2012 and then attended Southern Utah University and then Utah Valley University. I've been playing the piano ever since I can remember and I love composing my own songs as well as learning songs by many great composers. Also, I've been a doodler since I was a child and that hobby has stuck with me. I enjoy drawing, designing, and lettering. Being outdoors has also been a big part of my life. I find a lot of satisfaction from doing farm work, yard work, going camping, hiking, and playing sports of all kinds. I have a love for learning and find joy in all the opportunities that life has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has brought so much fulfillment and happiness into my life. It challenges me in an incredibly good way. It gives me hope and it gives my life purpose; which purpose is to return to live with Heavenly Father and become like Him. He has provided a way for us to achieve this, our divine purpose, by establishing His church here upon the earth. I am so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I've had many sweet simple assurances and also several sacred experiences that have solidified my testimony of the restored gospel. I could never deny the testimony that I have.

How I live my faith

I grew up attending church regularly and have chosen to stick with that habit as an adult. I make every effort to get to church every Sunday as well as make it to the activities during the week. I've had the opportunity to work with the women in the wards I've attended by being a member of the presidency that oversees the welfare and well-being of the sisters in the ward, serving as a compassionate service leader, and being a member on committees to coordinate activities. I've also served as a ward missionary and a visiting teacher. Each experience has been a blessing in my life. I now have a calling to serve as a missionary in Houston, Texas.
