Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a teenager. I'm into music, design, and travel. I'm a fun-loving kiwi, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I moved to London from New Zealand about two years ago. Although I miss my extended family and my homeland, I enjoy being here because of the terrific friends I have made at church and school. I also enjoy exploring all the historical sites of England and the opportunity to visit other countries in this part of the world. I am a creative person, who likes reading, drawing, cycling, singing, playing music and serving others. Someday, I hope to serve a full time mission for the church, and train to be an architect.

Why I am a Mormon

I have gone to six different schools, moved house over 14 times, and been a member of seven different wards of the church, in two different countries. However, wherever I go the teachings of the church are exactly the same. Not only is the Church the same throughout the world, but we have the same church that Jesus Christ organised personally while He was on the earth about 2000 years ago. I love having a living prophet on the Earth that we can listen to when he speaks in General Conference. His words can inspire, council, comfort and guide us in our times of need. I choose to live the gospel because it keeps me happy. I also know that it is through listening to the teachings of the church that I get to enjoy being part of a happy family. This is why I want to share the gospel - so that others can be happy too. I believe that we have a Father in Heaven who does love us all and does want us all to be happy. I know that there is a lot of sadness in the world, but what we choose to do individually, does make a difference to us and those around us.

How I live my faith

I start my school day by attending early morning Seminary. This year we are studying the New Testament. I love learning about my Saviour Jesus Christ because it helps me to feel closer to Him and live my life in a more positive way. When I'm at school, I try to be an example of good standards of dress, language, behaviour and honesty. I am lucky to have good friends who respect my beliefs and know that I always want the best for them. Our youth group at Church gets together every Tuesday for a variety of activities. They are always fun and I love being with the other youth in our ward and stake. Sometimes we have regional activities like EFY where we get to meet even more spiritually minded teenagers. I go to church with my family every Sunday to worship and learn about God. I wouldn't have it any other way.
