Hi I'm Kylie

I am studying American Sign Language. I love to sing and laugh! I am serving a mission in North Carolina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church, and I am currently serving as a missionary in North Carolina! Prior to my mission, I was at college studying American Sign Language, and I hope to one day be an interpreter. Since I was little I have LOVED singing and performing on stage, and have had the wonderful opportunity to be involved in many choirs and shows. I also love to write. Fun fact: when I get laughing hard enough, I get awful hiccups. Sometimes I snort. But it's always worth it!

Why I am a Mormon

While I was raised in the church, I have chosen for myself to continue to be a member. The gospel of Jesus Christ has given me so much hope in a world that has so many confusing and different ideas. In a crazy world, it's so easy to feel confused in our personal lives! However, knowing who I am and that God has provided me with a way back to Him makes things so clear. I believe that we are here for a purpose, and that we do not have to be confused about what that purpose is. God has gradually begun to show me what my purpose is, and I will continue to live His way so that one day I can reach my full potential.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly, where I take the sacrament to remember the Savior and His sacrifice for me. I have been very involved in the church's institute program for young single adults, including working with Special Needs programs and serving on committees. I try to always work towards being a better person. I am currently serving a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina, leaving behind my family, friends, and school, and I am SO happy to do so! I feel that dedicating my whole life for 18 months is a small sacrifice to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Because Heavenly Father's plan for His children was very well thought out! Heavenly Father loves us all SO much that He very carefully planned for every possible situation. He knew that some of us would grow up in homes where we could learn of the gospel and some of us would learn it later in life. He also knew that some of us would never have the chance to learn about the gospel and to be baptized. Being the loving, all-knowing Father that He is, He created a way that makes sure no one just "slips through the cracks". Baptisms for the dead is a way for us to help others and to participate in this wonderful plan God has for us. Show more Show less
