Hi I'm Justin Markham

My name is Justin Markham, I'm an actor, student, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I love listening to music, playing video games, dancing, and watching movies. I want to be an actor when I get older. I hope I can endure through my endeavors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has a loving and burning conviction for the church. My parents love the church almost as much as they love our family. Growing up, I always had this warm and kind feeling toward the church. Although no one is perfect, and we have met people who did not always emulate their best qualities. I still felt like the things I was taught were true. When I started going to the YSA, I really started connecting with the people my age. It became more enjoyable to be at church. When I heard the account of Joseph Smith and the First Vision. The feelings I got when I heard it were so tender and genuine. I felt good in a way that nothing else ever had before. It felt like a sincere truth.

How I live my faith

I love being able to listen to the scriptures. It brings the scriptures to life. I love being able to speak with my Heavenly Father, even when I don't feel like praying to Him. It is so nice to know that He's still watching out for me and cares for me and those I care for. I love going to church and seeing the people I've been able to form real and sincere bonds with. I also love being able to serve those in church and the people I see everyday. Knowing that it's as easy as giving someone a smile, that can brighten their day.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Justin Markham
Joseph Smith was a man, a father, a brother, a leader, a prophet, and a disciple of Christ. He was curious and wanted to know how he could worship God honorably. He prayed to ask God simply which church was His church. He answered him, and said that none were his. His needed to be restored back to the way it was when Christ was on the Earth, and Christ told Joseph that it was going to be him that did it. Through time and much adversity, Christ's church was restored. Joseph Smith had done what the Lord asked of him. Along with that, Joseph Smith was a good friend. My third great grandfather was his best friend, and was also his bodyguard. Toward the end of Joseph Smith's life, he was held in carthage jail with my grandfather. Joseph knew that he was going to die, and so Joseph sent my grandfather away knowing that he would be safe. I feel like it was by the gift of compassion that he had for my grandfather that inspired Joseph to send him away. If he did not, I may not have been alive today. Joseph Smith was an honorable man, and I know from a heritage that devoted their lives to him, the church and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
